get three or four female bettas of different colors. I used to have a ten gal community tank of female bettas and it was beautiful. I had a royal bue, red, combodian, orange, and blue-greenish. Just make sure you understand their needs (many hiding spots and atleast 3 bettas or more so they can form their pecking order). You will also need to get a heater, since they are tropical fish. I just love the way a sorority of bettas looks. they each have their own personality and interaction is fun to watch plus you can get them each in a different color.

I think 4 more female betttas and 4 corydora catfish would really make for a neat tank. you already know how to care for the bettas and the cory cats are bottom feeder and eat what fall to the ground, so just feed a little more than the bettas will eat. if you’re using pellets just add a little tropical flakes too that they can get once they sink.

however, pretty much any tropical community fish would work, why not try looking around you local pet store and writing down some types you like then googling them?

First of all, make sure that you’ve had your betta in there for a few weeks with the tank cycling. It needs time to go through the nitrogen cycle. If you don’t allow it the time, when you add fish the ammonia or nitrate levels could kill the fish you add.

After a few weeks I would suggest getting community fish, as that’s the kind of fish that bettas are. When you go to the pet store usually it will say “community, semi-agressive, or agressive” and it is important that you don’t mix unless you know the specific type of fish will be compatable.

I would suggest some tetras or mollys as they are hardy fish and can handle some high levels of different things while you’re learning how to have a fish tank. Don’t get guppies because although they are pretty and sold as beginner fish they are actually pretty sensitive to ammonia.

As long as you make sure you don’t overfeed your fish, you should be fine learning how to take care of your fish.

get guppies they are colorful and sexy little devils i just love them guppies. but they are easy. temp.- 72-78*F and no ammonia levels . but easy to care for. NO GOLDFISH AT ALL IN UR TROPICAL TANK!!!!!

all fish are compatibal, but since she a betta the gouramis are out of the question, you could get 5 neon tetras or 5 cardnls, you could get like 3 sharpa tetras, your some black skirts,you get some zebra danios, or acupple of green fire tetras, the list goes on and on

I would suggest some of the following: cories, white clouds, platies, or mollies. One of my favorite betta communities is a beta, 3corries, and a group of white clouds. all of these are fairly easy to keep.
