Black Goldfish Turning Silver?!?!?!?
by Aquaboy on Sunday, September 5th, 2010 | 3 Comments
So my goldfish is black (kinda weird I know…) and has really googly eyes. I noticed this morning that his belly (which is normally silver, not anything new there) but his whole underside is starting to turn silver. My fish have been sick in the past, they’re scales have fallen off. But this time, its not just one or two randomly, its his whole belly. Could he be sick?

Yes I say take him/her to the vet I know sounds weird
well first off you got a moor a variety of the gold fish family which comes from carp family so he is just turning more into what the carp he was breded from in looks don’t think there is anything wrong just keep the water clean and feed him a little lees and change his diet some turn orange after awhile on the underside if he seems healthy then don’t worry about it
It’s not unusual for black moors to turn colours, some can go from black to mostly orange and black – some can have patches of gold, sliver and even white. If it’s not behaving any differently and showing no signs of stress or being ill he should be fine
