aquarium substrate. can i use CARIBSEA ARAGAMAX SUGAR SAND in a freshwater tank. will effect the ph? ?
it says its marine sand but i saw a video on youtube where its used in a malawi tank. and i was wondering does it effect the PH of the water because i have a softer tank than malawi tanks around 7.

Yes, this sand is designed for marine and will buffer the sand up over 8. Its ok to use in malawi tanks as they need a high pH. It should not be used for other freshwater fish however.
