Aquarium plants which ones for a 15 gallon tank with 1.5 inch normal gravel?

I would like a list of nice plants to put in my aquarium they must be able to sit in only 1.5 inches of normal gravel in a 15 gallon tank with about 13.5 inches depth of water (15 including gravel) Please only list names of plants which grow easily in these conditions plus also the moderate ones if they are very pretty and well suited to this kind of tank.

Anacharis is a good easy plant. Grows very good.

You could do java fern. But java fern isn’t a plant that you plant into the gravel. It needs to be tied to something, then it’ll root onto it. They are easy.

Crypts, Anubias, Java Fern, and Rotala have all done well by me….

What you don’t mention is your lighting situation and whether or not you are dosing fertilizer. I’ll assume you’ve got the regular lights that came with the tank, which are relatively useless, and no fertilzers… In this case, the plants Freshbliss listed are perfect, as are Java Moss, Anubias, Water Sprite, most Aponogetons, Pennywort (Hydrocotyle leucocephala), Hornwort, Anacharis, and possibly Amazon Swords…

If you get a bulb in the specific spectrum for plant growth (5,500K-6,700K or 10,000K) and dose liquid fertilizers (Flourish is great), your options greatly expand… You probably have a 15 watt light, which is not much at all, so you’re still limited to VERY simplistic plants… Banana Plants, Lilies (Nymphaea species), and possibly Bacopa species could work nicely in this case… Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
