Aquarium Design: Volcano, black sand, what Lighting?
by Aquaboy on Thursday, January 28th, 2010 | 2 Comments
I am redoing my tank tonight, and I wanted everyone’s opinion. I am purchasing a volcano for my aquarium, was going to add black sand, maybe some rocks. Which light bulb should I purchase to really intensify my fish’s colors? I want them to really stand out and look beautiful. Any other cool ideas for my tank? Let me know.
I was thinking about a black background as well.
Why don’t you think it’s a good idea to put a volcano in an aquarium. Have you seen the pics? You should check them out

blueish lights tend to bring out fishes colors better..
something like a 14,000K or 18,000K it’s probably sold as a marine bulb, but it will work for FW as long as there’s no live plants
hydor makes a submersible light that has different color filters for it. i suggest to get one and use the red filter..
