Saltwater Aquarium Heating Concern Question.?

I have a saltwater aquarium and the temp in it is currently 80.4 degrees, when I got out of work last night it was up to 82, so last night i did a 1/4th water change with some cooler water to drop the temp to about 78. Well like I said its about 80.4 in the tank now, my house is set to a temp of 68, and the heater in the tank is set to 75. Any ideas why it is jumping all the way up to 82? the light in the tank maybe? I just don’t feel like it produces a lot of heat. But anyways, any ideas on how to keep it down? would throwing a power head in there make a diffrence?

Our new mouse habitat! We got these two mice today, a gray with a white stripe and a brown, both females. We had bought a large wire cage to house them in, but even at 3/8 inches the bars are far enough apart that they could escape. So I had to quickly clean out my 10 gallon glass aquarium to create a more secure home for them. I used parts of the cage set up to make it more interesting for them.

The dealer told me neon lights would only be good for 12 months, after that time they might still be working but would be “worn off” and not have the light spectrum needed for the tank.

Im Looking At Getting About 6 Gerbils, What Size Aquarium Would I Need?

First off 6 gerbils is WAY too many. It can to breeding which can lead to inbreeding. Two would be the ideal amount. Unless you’re looking to breed, there is no reason for 6 gerbils. For each gerbil they need at least “12 x “12 inches of living space. So unless you’re looking to get a 6 foot aquarium, you should just stick with two.

Okay so my mom makes pajama bottoms(its so weird, right!) for me and my brother.
My brother made me trade with him, so he got some fishy fabric instead of the dinosaurs.
This morning, I saw a piece of the fishy ones on the table. I cut a fish out(about 4 in by 2 in) and stuck it in my pocket, after my mom had left. Thanks you for reading this:)
I came home from school, and she was so mad at me. It wasn’t leftover apparently, it was the pajama bottoms:( so she took my phone away, said I couldn’t go shopping this weekend with my friends for christmas presents, and is trying to figure out what else to take from me. She said I wash inconsiderate and she is sick of me going around this house like I know more than everyone else. I just stay in my room, nobody in this house understands me. Whenever I tell her something, I end up getting in trouble. I gave her all of my money($10 and a $25 dollar gift card) and she is still pissed off at me. I told her we can get more, but she’s just so pissed!!! Is she overreacting?

I sold my platys and my mollies cos it wasn’t fair that they live (or die) through a cycle .Platys are gone, still waiting to hear when the mollies will go. What do I do then to cycle the tank? Do I start by emptying the tank as much as possible with a gravel cleaner (they never seem to go all the way down) How do I cycle?

How To Build A Small Tank Topper For A 29 Gallon Tank?

Hello,
I recently bought a temporary 29g tank for my rats. For years I had a 10g tank and a large “High Rise” wire cage on top to get fresh air and out of the aquarium. Now that I have upgraded the tank, I see there are no “High Rise” metal toppers to fit my tank.
My question is, does anyone have a D.I.Y. process to create a topper? It does not have to be large, or fancy, just sturdy and realistic to build, it would be around 30.5“Lx13.5“Wx12“T
Good wire material to use, powder coated or galvanized, and safe ways of making it sturdy would be a great place to start. This will be for rats, so wood would probably not work.
I have already been looking at rack systems at Home Depot to see if I can modify it enough to go into the tank. I also plan on adding ledges and ramps in the tank, but I am not sure how to secure them if the eat the sealant!
Again, any good helpful links, photos, ideas, or suggestions are welcome!
