Please do not insult me but I really want to know. All of the fish stores say that they only grow to 7 inches in captivity. And these stores specialize in fish. I have an amazing canister filter that cleans great. So the waste is not a problem. I have a clown pleco and a dwarf gourami in the tank at the moment. The tank is cycled and has smooth rocks as gravel. I can change it to sand if needed. PLease help.

I’m almost 100% sure he has a form of fungal infection, and the remedies I’ve heard are adding a bit of aquarium salt to the tank and using some medical drops like ick. Any ideas???

If you were not restricted by funds, space or anything else, what would be your dream aquarium set up?
I’d have a large freshwater aquarium in one part of my house and a large marine aquarium, most likely both built in to the house. I know not everyone will enjoy my fish as much as I do, but I want to enjoy them as many places as possible.
I’m not sure yet about the marine tank inhabitants, but I’m thinking something long like 6′-8′ long or a little more, with live coral.
For the freshwater tank, I think I’d have to have 2 tanks because I’d like to have 1 with angels and 1 larger with community schooling fish, even if it’s schools of different kinds of tetra and maybe a couple blue rams or gouramis.
But I want to know how big would you go within a home setting, and what would you have?

I’ve been feeding Scooter, my 2-year-old Toy Xoloitzcuintli on Pro Plan all of his life. His breeder fed Pro Plan to all of their dogs and he was weaned on it. I tried him on the Innova Evo with fish and he developed hives. So, I picked up a bag of Artemis Maximal Dog two days ago (after giving the unused Evo to our local shelter). I’ve been mixing the new food in with his old food. Scooter is free-fed. I’ve been doing this since he was a puppy and he just eats when he is hungry. Anyway, since I’ve been mixing some of the Artemis in with his Pro Plan, Scooter has been not doing well. After eating he will drool a lot and then vomit. After that he acts fine. This has happened many times and I took him to the vet. They said he might be allergic to chicken and to feed a food with fish as the main ingredient. The vet also told me that he doesn’t like Artemis or any of those types of dog foods because they are too high in protein and he has seen several dogs develop kidney failure from it. He told me to stick with Pro Plan. He feeds his dogs Science Diet, but he said that Pro Plan would be his next choice. Should I keep trying with the Artemis or try something else? But, is Pro Plan really all that bad? Scooter does really good on it. His skin is very nice, has never had any stomach upset on it, the vet has told me that his heart is very strong and healthy, he has never been sick until I’ve started trying other dog foods, his teeth look wonderful, and he loves Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach. So, what is so bad about it?

Okay, so I have about a 94L fish tank that I haven’t cleaned for a few months, im guessing two or three months (i lose count, maybe even four) and the water isnt murky but there’s algae but i dont really get the point of cleaning the algae…
my cousin has a massive massive tank and they never clean it and her fish live for a long time, when they do clean it many of the fish die why is that? are they used to the dirtiness of the water?
I find that when i clean the tank it stresses the fish and they have to get used to the clean water again and again, and it also takes me AGES to clean the tank and filter (im 14 and my dad doesnt help…besides turning the hose on to put in the water, oh and turning it off)
