Ok so I had 2 ten gallon aquariums and have had them for years. I recently upgraded to a 30 gallon tank and bought a delta tail betta to showcase the new aquarium. Most of my community fish and the Betta got along but I walked in to check on the aquarium just in time to see the Betta attacking my Serpea Tetra. It is not a long finned fish, but they do school. I only have one and it has a red tint to it, while the betta is all red and relatively the same size. Does anyone think that the Serpea Tetra may have been trying to school with my betta??? I saw both the Tetra following the betta, and the betta stalking the tetra before the fight broke out. The Betta is temporarily in a floating breeder tank in the aquarium but gets agitated when the tetra comes near. Any suggestions???? I would like to save putting the Betta into a new tank as a last resort due to space issues! I thought maybe getting more Serpea Tetras might cause the one I currently have to school with them and stay out of the Betta’s way but it might just make more prey for the betta. Would this be a solution? Please help my fish!!
