Why Did Our Tetra Fish Die?

So, we’ve had these 3 tetra fish in a tank for about a week, maybe longer, when I found them dead in their tank today… But just a couple hours before, they were swimming around, looking lively. When I looked more closely, it looked like they might not have been eating their food? Or maybe we were giving them too much? Because the flakes are sitting at the bottom with what looks like white cotton pieces surrounding them. The food we’ve been feeding them TetraMin Tropical Flakes. The tank looks clean, other than those flakes on the bottom of the tank.

Okay, my goldfish lives in a 30g tank with a fancy goldfish and a Pleco, vita-lite and filter, her aquarium is changed one a week. Her back fin is down and she is just swimming at the top, gulping air. I have no idea what’s wrong :( ( I love her so much, what can I do to help her??

Can A Dirty Fish Tank Make People Sick?

I work in an office, the guy right next to me has a huge 70+ gallon tank in his area. This tank sits directly behind me (about 3 feet away from my desk). He’s worked here for three years and has NEVER once cleaned this tank. About 6 months ago it began to smell something terrible, so I mentioned it to him and asked if he thought cleaning it would correct the smell. He said “No” but that he would get a new filter because one of his filters had been broken. I then asked him why he didn’t want to clean it because I thought all the greenish algae (which lines the perimeter of the bottom of the tank where the rocks are, about 2.5 inches up the sides) was the cause of the smell. He told me the algae was supposed to be there for a “healthy ecosystem”…and he went on to explain that the algae feed the sucker fish. My question is: can dirty tank potentially make people, who are next to the tank 40 hours a week, sick? Myself and a number of other employees (including this guy) have headaches and burning eyes unique to when we’re at the office. I’ve changed the Office AC air filters, thinking that could be why we had these symptoms…and that doesn’t help. I don’t get these headaches when I’m at home doing the same computer work as I do in the office. Can anyone help me understand what a healthy fish tank is? And what an unhealthy fish tank is?

Sigh, Woke Up At 2am And Had A Revelation I Am Not Pleased With…?

I’m a senior girl turning 18 in December. My birthday idea started out with 4 tickets I had to Monterey Bay Aquarium. I started thinking of plans to go to the Embassy Suites Hotel, go to Benehauna’s for dinner, go to a strip club, and have a small hookah party with me and three other girls. That’s really expensive, so my crush suggested me and her just go. She says she likes me yet shows no signals of liking me, or will give mixed signals like we texted our fantasies and what we’d want to do during sex(we’re both virgins), but then right after she told me there was no one she wants to give her virginity to. I was hoping that by my birthday she’d like me and that we’d have sex, but I woke up this 2am and my revelation is that those are high unrealistic expectations and that I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on my birthday for me and my crush and than not even have sex. (Odd revelation considering I dreamt about screaming in a football game I was at earlier)
I would like to go to Embassy Suites and Benehauna’s and what not, but it’s unrealistic to think that sex will also be included or that by having sex she’d like me or want to be my girlfriend. My other birthday idea is just to have a small kickback, but the majority of my friends are minors and don’t drink or smoke.
What do I do? I want to go with my original birthday plan, but it’s expensive and I don’t want to set high expectations, but my second birthday idea is less expensive, but might not be as fun…
Should I just do something different entirely?

Betta Fish Hides In Cave All The Time?

I’ve had my beta for about…4 months or so now? Even if he was in his cave – which he has no problem going in and out of, he used to pop his head out and come out to say hello when I came near the tank, but now he sulks in there all day. I never see him swimming out and about anymore. It’s a chore to get him to come out and eat, and when he does, it takes him like 5 times to eat the pellet – it’s as though he doesn’t see it. He’s kept in a filtered 5 gallon tank.
Is my beta sick? Should I try putting beta fix or anything like that in the water? I love the little guy – he used to be so excited to see me, I don’t want to lose him or anything =(

Is It Likly That My Freshwater Snails Are Eating My Small Fish?

I had a small school of white clouds in my tank and a male beta. I added 4 little mystery snails to it to help keep it clean, however the soon grew fat off of my live plants and are now 4 big snails, I was waking up to find my little white clouds sucked down to the bone. I thought maybe they’re diying because of something I’m not doing for them, but now my healthy happy Beta is dead, sucked clean.

i have a foreground plant only- Baby tears [H.UMBROSUM .and decided to make a co2 diffuser, but after reading in some blogs and discussions i felt it as a useless idea that its not effective at all. also my lighting is 1-fluorescent 12w+one 15w tube. is this lighting enough how much should I add?

Scarf is a Shanghai Tang “double fish” scarf, navy on one side and the brightest fuchsia on the other. It’s very long and warm and very beautiful. I guess i’ll have to buy an outfit to wear with it as nothing i own matches it. Maybe i can make do with very dark blue jeans and a navy top? I don’t like matching navy with black. The pink is so bright that i’d hate to add more color to the outfit, will prob end up looking like an amazonian bird. Any help will be greatly appreciated, I’ve had this scarf for 4 years now and haven’t used it a single time, hoping to change that this winter. Oh, I hardly have formal occasions to go to, so long dresses are out.

Maybe can wear it with white or brige colour colthing. Best is to match it with light colour. Winner wear white will be very nice for me.
