I was moving around some rocks in my aquarium and found an auratus cichlid fry. However before I could do anything my peacock cichlid ate it. I took all the cichlid out and found just one more fry and put it in a breeding box, it’s doing fine the fry is about the size of a dime, slightly smaller. I’ve been feeding it frozen brine shrimp. It’s the mother I’m worrying about she won’t eat. She grabs hold of the pellets and then spits them out. I do know that their mouth brooders so they carry the fry in their mouth which could be the reason she’s not eating, and I have tried looking inside of her mouth for fry but I couldn’t see anything. Also is there a chance she only had two fry or were the other probably eaten by the other cichlid.
