I got my 4 fish a couple days back, a 2 guppies, a tiger barb and some other fish. The other fish was larger than the others (like if you stuck 2 guppies together), is kind of gray blue and has 2 antennae looking things on the bottom. Well he was a very shy fish in the beginning, always hiding in the corner or near my filter. My tiger barb died the next day because of filter related accidents that I have fixed. I got 2 other guppies 2 days ago maybe? The big fish started to get less shy. When I put food in the tank he would chase away the other fish and eat it all. Yesterday I left for tennis and they were all doing fine but when I came back one of my fish was missing half of his tail (I will refer to him as B). Like the colour was all gone and there were these white line things. I thought the big fish bit him or something. I left for about an hour to take a shower and when I came back it looks like the back part of B’s body was brown and the scales looked odd. Well the big fish started spitting out these things that looked like scales. My dad said the big fishes mouth was too small to do that kind of damage but I don’t know. This morning when I woke up B’s entire tail was missing (the colour part) and all that was left was the little white parts. Also the back part of B’s body was turning yellow and white-ish. He also wouldn’t move or eat so I took him out of the tank and put him in a cup with water from the tank so it was the same temp and everything. I don’t know whats wrong and I am sick of my fish dying.
Sorry, I know it is long but I really need help. By the way my tank is about 10 gallons and the bottom is covered in rocks. Sorry I can’t get pictures, I tried but the quality is horrid.
(Please don’t tell me tiger barbs shouldn’t be alone with guppies, I know that know :/)
