30l Aquarium Stocking?

Hi There.
I am interested in purchasing an Aqua One AquaStart 320 Aquarium (Link Below). http://www.onlineaquariumstore.com/acata…
As you can see, It is a cubular aquarium (roughly) of about 28 L. (Its near enough 30 Litres – why I said 30 above)
I am unsure of what I could stock it with. I’m thinking I’ll put a heater in it and go tropical, as most of the fish that I like are tropical.
So, Please could you give me some ideas on stocking. I’d prefer small, schooling/shoaling fish to one or two larger fish (and yes, I know NO GOLDFISH – so I’d prefer it if you didn’t mention those = ] ) I’d also like the fish to be colourful, not plain such as fish like White Cloud Mountain Minnows.
Thanks 8 ¬ )

Why Are Eggs Making Me Sick?

Every time I eat plain eggs (usually scrambled), I feel nauseous and get stomach cramps. I’ve read it could be because of a developed allergy and was wondering if anyone knew if giving up meat could have caused it. A year ago I became pescetarian (a vegetarian who eats fish), and since then eggs have made me sick. Could this be related?

Ich Infestation Help!?

All of my fish have ich and are looking pretty bad. If they all die, what should I do? Leave the tank with the same water and wait for the inh to die( a week) before I get another fish? 100 % water change? Clean all of the plants and rocks , but leave the water?
If I get a new fish after a week of nothing in there, will it be safe?

Betta Fishes In The Past Never Live Long?

My Betta’s in the past never lived so long (I had TONS of them as a little kid) I could only remember a few that lived a year, maybe a little longer, but this year I got Harold, a blue betta male, he died after I cleaned his tank (I never use soap at all, I use hot water to clean with, then a paper towel to get the scum off, and then match the water temp. to the one in the small bowl where I temporary put my fish in while I clean) I did recall using the anti-stress in there… then I got a female, Tyche, she died 4 days ago, after I cleaned it out, she lasted 6 months, I did everything right besides the stress coat ’cause I was going to get some when I went to the pet store later on in the week… she lived before when I cleaned and didn’t put the anit-stress in…. but she was very fat, I think I overfed her, and I didn’t mean it, I mean like 2 pellets daily or something that I think is WAY too little. I felt so bad for the little thing, I was pretty attached to her…
But now I have a red male betta, named Mortimer, we both immediately clicked at the pet store, so can anyone give me advice on how to get him to live long, ’cause I really like him and he goes crazy when he doesn’t see him when I go to read on my bed… lol
But please, thanks, and maybe tell me what I did wrong

Why Do I Feel Sick Right Now?

I feel sick but I don’t have a fever yet. Last night when I was sleeping I just felt really weak and sick. You know, the feeling that you get when you have a fever. Could it be because I accidentally tasted fish bait off my fingers when I went fishing on the weekend? My poop was also black when I got back from camping (I went fishing when I went camping) and today I had a minor diarrhea. My forehead doesn’t feel hot my my body feels a bit cold and weak. What could be the cause of this?! Yesterday I felt totally fine! Is it due to the fish bait? I asked people but they said I would be fine.

Can I Use Rocks From Outside In My Fish Tank?

Hey guys, Ive got the little purple pebbles in my fish tank, but i dont really like the look of them and they’re a pain to clean. So i was wondering if i can use rocks from outside, most are pretty rounded and have no sharp edges. Should i rinse them in hot water or freeze them or something to kill all bacteria, or is this just not a good idea? I just dont wanna spend like $10 on ‘Real Aquarium Rocks’.

What’s Going On With My Fish?

So I just got back from a one month holiday. I left my fish under the care of my cousin, who told me that he only did a water change twice.
In my 17 US gallon tank I had:
- 6 harlequin rasboras
- 6 neon tetras
- 1 male betta
- 2 corydora julli/sterbai
- 1 bristle-nose pleco.
Yeah it was a little bit overstocked, but now the harlequin rasboras have disappeared, and a neon tetra. Obviously they died, but where did they go?? My cousin didn’t even realise they’d gone, and the filter is still running fine. I did a 50% water change and totally cleaned the filter – nothing. No bodies, no bones… Yes, there is a lid on the tank so they couldn’t have jumped. No cats or other pets..
I can’t check water parameters at the moment, as I don’t have the means to go about it but I will ASAP. The neon tetras seem to be less shy than before (they were more shy when the harleys were around), and the BN plec as grown amazingly. Everyone else seems fine. I hope to maybe get 2 more julli + 2 more sterbai if I can, and if there’s space a few more neons. Yay or neigh?
Any ideas where the harlequins + tetra went? Could the fish have eaten them, as when fish die I know the rest can nibble on their bodies… But the cousin would have noticed this :S Please help me out. I’ll try check waters ASAP, so I hope it’s not that. The tank looks so empty now.
