Help Shubunkin Goldfish?!?

i have 2 shubunkin goldfish in my bedroom, we got one from our auntie, they are around 4 1/2 inches long, and are kept in a 21Ltr tank, which i think is WAY too small
TANK: http://www.petsathome.com/shop/cool-21ltr-blue-goldfish-aquarium-kit-by-marina-19015
but everytime i ask my mum to get a new tank , she says stuff like “do you think i’m made of money!?” and goes on about her being a single parent n stuff, but these fish are growing quick and we NEED a new tank!! but my mum uses the excuse “fish only grow to the size of their tank”.
The problem is, we have nowhere to put a bigger tank, my mum refuses to put it in the kicthen, and it only just fits on the draws its on now. what can i do? these poor fish are suffering. :(

Why Won’t My New African Clawed Frog Eat?

Saturday I purchased a very small albino African clawed frog. He’s only about an inch long. I put him in a 10 gallon tank with a filter, some medium sized gravel, and a plant. I’m going to add some large decor rocks for him to hide under too.
He hasn’t eaten anything in the three days that I’ve had him. I bought aquatic frog and tadpole food and I tried the fish flakes that came with my tank, both of which he ignores. I went back to the pet store today and asked what they had been feeding them- fish food. I went to another pet store and they suggested I try frozen shrimp and gave me a sample. He hasn’t shown any interest in that either. I was going to try tiny crickets next since they are alive.
I think the gravel is a problem because the food sinks and seems to get lost in it. I am planning on cleaning the tank (the water is cloudy because of all the food he hasn’t eaten) and removing most of the rocks, that way he can get to the food easier. Would that be a wise idea?
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

You could use something along the lines of a plastic tub, I quite like plastic spaghetti jars for this purpose. If you use a rectangular tub, it can be partitioned using egg-crate. Each partition can hold a particular filter media, such as bio-balls, floss or carbon. A pump can be added to the last compartment to return water to the aquarium.

You might want to try googling ‘DIY aquarium filters’, there really are some wacky ideas out there.

My Fish Keep Dying, What Is It?

i have 2 Black moors or “telescope” goldfish..i also had 5 tiny neon fish now i only have 4…i had a snail and a small sucker fish which also died. i can tell that one of my moors was beginning to get sick after i introduced the sucker and the school of neons. both the snail & sucker fish died at the same time then one of the small ones. now my moor is getting worse. first she(it?) had tiny white dots all over her tail and fins. now her fins and tail are disintegrating..all thats left are the little lines that go through the tail and fin. whats going on with my fish?

Can Fish Be Addicted To Cigarettes?

Just to clarify, I DO NOT SMOKE and I DO NOT FEED ANY OF MY FISH NICOTINE! Okay-so last night I was laying in bed listening to the three fish tanks making there sounds. One of them has an external air thingy. Now, I was wondering what would happen if ten times a day you replaced there clean air flow with cigarette smoke? I know you guys might say they’ll die, or whatever, but just say they didn’t. Would these fish become addicted to it? If they did what would happen if you went and cut the nicotine off? Oh and if your going to say it would ruin the water-say i changes the water after every ciggy! No I’m not sick in the mind lol it just very randomly came into my head! Haha. Thanks in advance! x
