Disappearing African Clawed Frog?

I really need help figuring this out. I got my little brother an african clawed frog (one of the aquatic frogs you can usually find at malls) yesterday. We have another one that is about 3 years old, and have been successfull with him, but he is my sisters and my brother wanted his own. We put the new one in a different aquarium, because my sisters frog is about 3 times the new ones size. Anyways, this morning my brother looked in the aquarium, and his frog was gone. We don’t have any animals that can/would eat the frog, he wasn’t with the other frog so there’s no possibility of a fight, we don’t have a pump or anything in its cage, and the water level was definitely deep enough for the frog, but only filled half of the tank, so there’s no chance he could possibly have jumped out. What happened to him?? My brother is devestated so we are getting him another, but I’m so confused right now. He not hiding, we looked under the rocks…
All help is appreciated!

What do I need for my new Aquarium Set up?

Question by Katie Jo: What do I need for my new Aquarium Set up?
Okay this is the first time I’ve ever had fish, so what are the basics I need. I want to get a 3 goldfish, 2 tadpoles, and maybe a crab. What all do I need for the tank, and is it okay if I keep the crab with my fish?

You always need to start with gravel, a heater, and some decorations. Everything else that comes with your starter kit is important too. For goldfish you need a big sized tank because some can grow up to the size of a koi fish. As far as tadpoles, I’m not sure how that would work, because I’ve never actually had frogs in a tank with my fish, if that’s what your planning on doing. Crabs are fine, just make sure they are the little ones in the pet store because if you start with small goldfish, when they go to the bottom the crab might nip at their fins. Good luck:]

Make sure the aquarium fits the base. It is important for the integrity of the tank that it doesn’t hang over the edge of the base.

Aquarium sponge filter?

Question by akosikiev123: Aquarium sponge filter?
I made a diy sponge filter for my aquarium. I shove a PVC pipe about halfway or more into the spong and inserted the air line down the PVC. The is about 4 inches of PVC sticking out of the sponge. What can I do to get the most effective results?

Best answer:

Answer by Dan M
You can replace the PVC with an air injector called a B&V jetlifter. It is more effective because the air bubbles are injected right at the base of the tube and the smooth curve is less resistant since the airline tubing is on the outside of the pipe instead of interfering with the flow.

Meal Ideas For A Fussy, Allergic 2-year-old?

My son is allergic to…
Eggs,
Peanuts,
Grapefruit,
Strawberries.
All he basically eats at the moment is cheese (grated), 2 minute noodles, dry crackers with Vegemite, Arnott’s shapes, toast (sometimes) and apple. He’ll eat hot chips and occasionally chicken nuggets of fish.
It’s not healthy, and I’ve got him on a multi-vitamin, but he’s 2 years and 4 months old, and he’s been a really sick boy previously (liver transplant) so he needs a healthy diet to keep him strong!
(The illness is what put him off his food to begin with)
He wont eat pureed food anymore, and if I put new foods on his plate he wont even touch it, just push it off the table. I’m at my wits end! Please help!

Is it ok to put a 20 gallon aquarium filter in a 10 gallon aquarium?

Question by ??: Is it ok to put a 20 gallon aquarium filter in a 10 gallon aquarium?
I’d been thinking that I want to replace my current filter in my aquarium. It’s a 10 gallon filter. I’m thinking that I should use a 20 gallon filter for it. Is it ok for a 10 gallon aquarium? Or will it give it too much suction? I have 14 Fishes (3 Platys, 2 juvenile Platys, 2 Guppies, 2 Cherry Barbs, 1 Zebra Danio, 3 Ghost Shrimp, and a Black Kuli Loach)
