i have a 20 gallon aquarium with 1 red tailed shark and 2 pearl danios.any suggestions on the next fish i should get.

can you kill algae in your fish tank by putting tank out of sunlight for a few days?

obviously enough light to keep what you want alive to live in reasonable comfort, afterall it is to help them unless theyre algae eaters.

I need help cooling down my fish tank?

I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 neon tetras and a Chinese Algae Eater. My tank is usually past 84 in the summer (i know that is horrible) i have an over head fan going all the time and my A/C going when I can but nothing seem to work any ideas.

I’m also trying freezing a water bottle and putting in, is that a good temp. solution?
it’s in the shadiest part already

aquarium power filter mechanic required re: loud impeller?

ok i moved and set up my aquarium to my bedroom. but since the noise from the filter is bothering me. if i change the impeller (3 years old) i heard it should make a difference. i brushed and cleaned it with a toothbrush and its still making the same amount of noise. what i dont get is why its making noise. what is it that breaks or goes wrong on the impeller that is causing this. it looks fine to the eye

My blackfin shark started floating around on his side but he was barely alive. This afternoon he was dead.?

What could have caused him to die? I have a snail in the tank with him. The snail tries to eat him now. I put Aquarium salt in last night and after that is when he started doing this. I woke up this morning and thats when he was floating around on his side but barely alive. I came home from work today and he was dead. Im going to get another one tomorrow but i need to know what this symptom could be so the next one wont die too. Could it be the aquarium salt? I also put some hardy aponogeton bulbs in too last night.

How come I seem to have 3 Glo-Fish that won’t school?

I have 6 Zebra Danios in a 10 gallon tank. 2 that are “regular” and then 4 that are Glo-Fish. Most of them are around the same size except one pink one that is a tad larger than the rest. I noticed that one orange one was acting funny, barrel rolling and laying on the bottom of the tank. fearing he was sick I removed him. Then the other orange one and the large pink one starting exhibiting the same behavior thinking I was going to lose all three I removed them and added them to the bowl with the other orange one. The three of them almost instantly seemed active and happy. I kept them all sepereated overnight then moved them back to the large tank. After the move they started acting funny again. The other three in the bigger tank are active and seem fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Additional info: The 4 glo-fish were all bought at the same time from the same tank.

Fish and Tank Question?

I’m getting a GUPPY fish soon, and I was wondering if I can just fill up the newly bought tank after cleaning it, with tap water, put the filter, gravel, decorations, plants, and that oxygen thing, in, and then put my fish in the tank.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE CYCLING PROCESS, I know this is what your supposed to do first but, every person that I know didn’t, and their fish are alive and healthy.

Is this going to hurt my fish?

AND CAN YOU EXPLAIN HOW YOU WOULD DO IT PLEASE!
