Fire bellied newts, cherry shrimp, and gouramis?

I love all three. I was wondering. In my tall 60 gallon tank, I would like to plant a ground cover plant, and float another surface plant on top, something tough enough to hold a newt body. The water level will be high but not full, low enough to easily few the tops of the plants and possibly its newt friends. In the water I would like a friendly, colorful fish that won’t eat my newts who I know could not eat them. I was thinking dwarf gouramis? Then as a side note, how about shrimp, they can’t hurt my newts, if the newts eat them, fine. But I also read shrimp are usually too large and too fast for a tiny newt to eat. So could they all co-exist in clean 80 degree water?

help! How do I bring my nitrite levels down?

Please help!
I have a 25 litre or 5.5 gallon tropical tank.
It has been fully cycled for 6weeks and I have just introduced my fish.
One betta called Banzai
Two suckermouth
5 Guppy’s
Ammonia 0.25
Nitrite 5.0
PH 7.8
Nitrate 80
I have put dechlorinator in all my water changes and changed 40% tonight.
I’m not too sure how to clean the gravel as my cleaner is too big for the tank so i’ve been using a turkey baster to suck the excess food.
I’ve had one death of a guppy
Filter is fine have a bubble wall too!
Feeding is my biggest concern as i’m sure i have not given them nearly enough food but there seems to be leftovers!

Well i need help with my new saltwater fish is somthing wrong with it?

Corals: slowly dying?

I have a 20 gallon nano tank that has been established for over a year now and all of sudden my corals are starting to die. I have a button polyops that should spread easily and dont ( only the large ones open anymore). I have a flower pot that used to open but is starting to die and never opens at all. I also have a green star polyop that spread like crazy but now looks like its starting to die. My ph level is is around 8.5. My ammonia is close to zero. My nitrite is around 0 as well. My nitrates are alittle hight like between the 40 and 80 portion but i think thats normal. I usually do water changes every 8 days swapping about 25 percent of the water out. The water is purchased from the fish store, not from made from tap. There are three fish in there a clown fish, dansel and a flame angel. I usually ad buffer with water changes, kents two part reef chem the next day, then some iodine or ph helper depending on the reading of the test. Any suggestions or help on this would be great? Like how often i need to add chemicals or what could save the coral? Thanks
How would you recommend quarantine it? and how much iodine and calcium?

I just got a new fish tank and need some help?

I have a gold fish in a little cheap 1 gallon tank. after a while I learned he needed atleast a 10 gallon. I went out, got a tank, filter, and conditioner. I know the conditioner needs to take affect on the water for 24-48 hours, but I did hear something about cycling…now I know it has something to do with good bacteria in the water. How long should I wait for it to cycle enough for the fish to live in it, and will adding some water from the old tank to the new one, help with the bacteria issue?
the tank the fish is in now has no filter. Ive just been cleaning it and adding new water (i let the water sit out over night to let the chlorine and other chemicals in tap water, die off)

Since the water is mildly dirty, is it okay to add it to the new tank

What color is a tiger oscar’s poo?

I saw something hanging from it’s bottom region that looked like fish poo but it was kind white in color…is that normal? Also my Oscar is new and getting aclimated but is it mormal for my oscar to stay near the top of the surface between the glass and where the water comes into the tank from the hang on back filter? It seems like he likes the current of the water coming into the tank.Ok, one more question..How much space is normal from the water surface to the top of the aquarium? Mine is filled to about two inches from the top..Is my water level too high and is water level important?
