I have recently purchased a puffer and although said to eat anything he seems to have little interest in fish flakes, so I researched how to breed snails and the only thing I cannot find out is what the minimum size is to start breeding them.
I have called several local pet stores and none of them have an idea.
I already have a tank set up and waiting for some shelled lovers,
i just want to know if they will be old enough to breed before I go out and buy them : )

I have 2 cigar sharks in a 15 gallon tank set at a temp. of 78-82F. When I purchased the sharks the store owner said they require salt which I added per instructions on box. I now own a hydrometer (cos I want to set up another aquarium also). The hydrometer shows no salt in the shark tank, I keep adding it and no reading (although I can get a reading in smaller pot of water – so I guess the meter is working ok). I am worried about adding so much salt to get the required reading. The box of salt states 1 rounded tablespoon per 5 gallons, so 3 should of been enough. I don’t want to harm my sharks (or future fish) by doing this incorrectly. Can anyone help/advice?

How big should my betta’s tank be? (Is one gallon enough?) What do I need for my tank? Do I REALLY need a filter and a heater? Are those items expensive?
What should I feed my betta? (Is it okay to ONLY feed it betta flakes?) What’s the amount I give it? How often?
How often should I clean my tank with a filter? How often without a filter?
What should I name it? (I was thinking of Dragon)
If I’m getting 2 betta fish, should I put them in a divider tank, or
separate tanks?
How big could a betta be?
Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Thanks guys, I can’t even pick the best answer. They’re are so helpful! thank you so much

I have a filtered and heated 10 gallon aquarium which houses a betta one side of the divider and a dwarf puffer on the other.
Yesterday I did a 25% water change, and today the betta’s side of the tank has a film on top of the water, and the tank is more cloudy.
The ammonia level is around .5, and it was around .3 yesterday BEFORE the water change.
I added the correct amount of water conditioner and the PH stabilizer.
What is going on!?

I have a comet goldfish in a fish bowl. I know that comet fish should not be kept in a fish bowl, I am getting a 20 gallon tank for him in a few days, but I would like to know how to look after him in the bowl for the meantime. Would I need to do partial water changes to keep his bowl clean? If so, how do I do this? Also, how do I transfer him from the bowl into the tank when I get it?
I’d really appreciate your advice, because I would like to keep him healthy in his temporary home.
F.Y.I: I definitely would not have bought the bowl if I had known at the time that goldfish should not be kept in one. The person at the pet shop mis-informed me, and I am a bit upset about this.
