I have a freshwater tank already. I want to start a small saltwater tank just to hold maybe one or 2 clownfish. What would I need to get? Is a saltwater tank hard to keep? Do I have to get all that live rock and corals and stuff?

How can you make a self-sustaining ecosystem inside a freshwater aquarium, it dosent need to be 100% self-sustained, with things like feeding them.
do you need a filter? and things like what animals will keep it clean?
Thanks

Hi, I rescued 2 goldfish a while back. They were in a small tank with a tiny filter and suffered from ammonia poisoning for a long time. They both had fin rot and the fins were all but gone. I got them a bigger tank, bigger filter and an air pump and air stones. I medicated the water and they no longer have fin rot. The fins are growing back and they are very healthy. The water chemistry is ideal and always have 0 ammonia readings. I take very good care of them.
I noticed yesterday the water temperature rose to 79 degrees. I know that 79 is high for goldfish considering they are cold water fish. 79 is perfect for my Jack dempsey but not my goldfish.
When I noticed the water temperature at 79 degrees I immediately did a partial water change to lower the temperature. It’s spring in Chicago and summer is coming..How do I keep their water at the ideal temperature for goldfish during the summer. I cant run my air conditioner 24/7. Any tricks or suggestions?
