Aquarium Snails and plants?

Hi all, i have recently created a tropical aquarium I am about to put in plants but I have been warned about snails growing because of these plants. Is there any particular plants that you can get that snails can’t grow on? (e.g if you get thin leaved ones or fat leaved ones etc). Also would you reccomend any plants or any treatment for the water fro snails and for adding nutrients to the plants.

How can I overcome my fear of fish-tank water?

Well I know it sounds silly when you first read it, but it’s a pretty serious problem for me. I’m looking after my sisters fishies while she’s away for a year or two working.
I love having responsibility for them, but I can barely bring myself to clean the algae off the side of the tank or anything that involves putting my hand in the water.
We’ve had fish in the past which have died, and although they have been removed, putting my hand in there still feels like touching a dead animal, which leads to me washing my hands all the time afterwards.
Please, if you know a way I can overcome this fear, help me!
Thanks everyone.

(And sorry, I didn’t really know what topic to put this in)

how dangerous is a chineese algy eater, in a 20 gallon tank with other fish?

I have been trying to find out wich fish is attacking the rest of my fish, but im not sure, i just read that the chineese algy eaters are pretty aggressive, first my zebras tail was bitten off last week and then my male guppy was attacked 4 days ago and last night another male guppy was attacked, i think its when there sleeping. at first i thought it was a opali gormi but i seperated him a few days ago and it happened again, so im caught between the the hot pink tetra, i dont know the full name, the male dwarf gourmi, he is still in the tank, , the 5 zebras or the chineese algy eater, here is the thing the algy eater is pretty new. my old one died 3 weeks ago he was really small, and the new one i got 2 weeks ago, is 3 times the size, of the first one, i know the time period of when the attacks started and when i got him fit together, but i want to be sure!! fyi there are lots of live plants to keep the fish safe and busy, and all the levels are good.
ALL INPUT IS WELCOME,
HE IS ABOUT A INCH AND A HALF IN SIZE. I DONT KNOW THE AGE I JUST BOUGHT HIS A FEW WEEKS AGO, BUT I DO SEE HIM TRYING TO SUCK ON THE FISH AS THERE SWIMMING P.S DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY BITE, LIKE CAN THEY BITE OFF A FIN OR DO THEY JUST SUCK

My fish tank looks like it has a layer of fog?

Okay so i have a 90L tropical tank.
I have 6 harloquin fish
some zebra somthing fish
and one balloon molly
From about 3/4 from the top of the tank it loks like theres a layer of fog across the tank. When they occasionally swim threw it the fog moves with them like clings to them as they move.
Any idea what it is if its dangerouse to them and how to get rid of it.
I have no Air pump as i cant currently afford one either but they said tropical fish dont really need one as there not a must have item.

Sick/dying Molly fish?

Right now as of today we have a molly in a 10 gallon aquarium. (one due to aggressiveness) Mom just bought a 23 gallon aquarium as the 10-20gal filter in the 10 gallon was too strong for her. Today my mom called and she said that Molly was trying to go up for air and the filter would force her back to the bottom of the aquarium and spin her over and over again in circles and bash her around the aquarium. Mom then said she unplugged the filter (which has been unplugged since last night) She just called me and she said molly is looking really weak and she turned the aerater on but kept the filter off for now and tomorrow we’re going to do an “emergency tank change” but use 100% of the old water in the 23 gallon, so it’ll be just about a half water change.

I had my mom put in some aquarium salt for now, as she had to leave for work. I am going to go over there tomorrow morning to help her setup the 23 gallon. I have a 10 gallon, 29 gallon, and 55 gallon.

Do you think molly fish will be alright? She was mine in the beginning, we’ve had her since around August. She is really big and beautiful, my mom is really attached to her.

Is there anything we can do?
She says molly is staying at the bottom, and is looking real real weak. Is it OK to not have the filter in for one more day? We have snails in there, but we’re going to get rid of them tomorrow. (They’ll become snacks for my goldfish) and we’ll get mysteries/apples instead [we got 9 free ones in the beginning from petco, and now we have about 300.]

Advice?
Do you think she’ll be alright?
help…..???

Cloudy water in established tank???

All water readings are in normal range.( This has been a problem for about a month now) Have done water changes, did a 50% change about 2 hours ago, (and water already starting to get cloudy). No signs of illness or stress with fish. Haven’t lost any fish. Not a pump or filter problem. Overcrowding not the issue. I am well understocked. The only thing I can tell you is that my fish have eaten my plants. I have 1 male swordtail, 2 female swordtails, 3 blackskirts tetra’s, 4 neon tetra’s, 4 zebra danios, 2 cory cats, and 1 bottom feeder, all in a 40 gallon. Why is the water cloudy and staying cloudy????
Yes, carbon filters, and it is the normal tank set-up, in other words, not underground.

How much does it cost to get a 75 gallon fish tank hood?

I need to find a place to get a cover for my 75 gallon cichlid tank i just tried to make one myself but it did not work and now i am in dire need of one now PLZ help.
Thanks
Im looking for some prices if any one has any
