What is this attachment with my aquarium filter?

Hi,
I have recently set up a breeding tank with a hang on filter, it has an attachment called a “venturi”or something like that, does anyone else have one of these? What does it do and is it any good?

Okay, so I have recently moved all of my goldfish yearlings into my larger tank, so they can be transferred to the pond in the spring, so I now have an empty 10 gallon aquarium. I cleaned it all out and re-filled it and it’s now cycling.

Okay so here’s sort of what my tank looks like:

4 plants, 3 small and 1 larger. Easy to hide in.
2 house things, 1 is just a little arch, and small fish can hide in the other. I’m thinking of getting another small structure that the fish can hide in.
The rocks are dark red, dark pink, light pink, light purple, and light blue.
I have a filtration system and an air stone.
I have a heater in one end, and a thermometer on the other (it’s at 78degrees).
I think that’s about it…

I have all the chemicals and stuff too,
dechlorinator, stress zyme, I have lots of medications (for ick, and fungus, etc.) and many others.
I have lots of types of food (blood worms, brine shrimp, flakes, pellets) all kept in a freezer.
I have all the testing supplies too.

Anyway I need to know what fish I can get in this set up?
I know most tropical fish need to be in schools, and I want 2 types of fish, so I need fish that stay small.
I don’t want shrimp or snails or anything either.

I really want some marbled mollies, but how well would 3 of them do in a 10 gallon?
If I got mollies I wouldn’t get 2 types, I would just get the 3. Or 4.. I forget how many were left at the pet store..
also, does my tank seem overcrowded with all the plants and structures?

I have a 35 gal hexagon shaped aquarium and I want to put a bubble curtain in the back of it. I was wondering how powerful pump do I need? I also want one that is quiet. Thanks

What do you love about Gentoo Penguins?

Hey, what is it that you love about gentoo penguins? They are the fastest swimming bird in the world, at speeds of up to 15 MPH. Here’s some pics and videos of gentoos. :)

It’s always important to feed gentoo penguins a good supply of vitamins each day, to keep them nice and healthy, as this penguin keeper explains and does. WOW! LOOK at all the gentoo penguins who just WADDLE very fast right over to get fed! They LOVE LOVE feeding time.

i want to get another aquarium?

either i might just get another aquarium, or this is just a really awesome dream ^_^
my last 20G, my mom was pretty mad at me…
but i just got sent $100!!!( my b-day @_@)and i have 32 already…
and my mom says i have enough tanks.though i could probably sneak one again(though everyone knows my mom wouldnt alow.. so hard…)
the reason for moving around is for new room for the new tank..

i have a 1G bowl for a betta, a 1.5G for another, a 5G, and a 10G( everything there has a filter, but the 1G) so it would make moving them harder, especialy the 10G..( they’re on a big table)
i wanted to move them to my 10G stand!!!
its the kind from wal-mart.
i was thinking the 10G on top, and the 5G and 1.5G betta on the bottom.. but that leaves my hermit crab home(already on the stand) and my 1G betta with nowhere to go..
and i don’t even know if the bar at the bottom will hold my 5G!
any ideas? i also have a dryer and washer in my fish room lol
$32!! not aquariums!!!

5G- guppies, 10G-goldfish- no mixy
and the 1G isn’t even mine! lol!!! it’s my bros betta, it was in a 1l, and i gave him the 1G…… which im taking care of.. wth..
whew im exhausted, i moved them all onto there!!( more than just move!! it was chaos!!)
and my back hurts.. and im sweating…lol)

Aquarium filter / Neon Tetras questions.?

I’m going to set up a 90 gallon tank soon ( right now I have a 55 gallon) with a big filter. But for the 90 gallon, I have two canister filters. Does it really need TWO canister filters? Its a Fluval 304. Also, I have neon tetras, mollies and a beta. Should I keep the big filter that hangs off the back on for water flow or is there a better, more visually pleasing way to make sure the water is oxygenated for them? Can the tetras get sucked up into the canister intake?
there are only 30 fish in the tank, mostly tetras. I doubt we will add very much more. No more than 40. But will two canisters alone, provide enough oxygen in the water for them? Also, I have unfortunately read that they often have leaks too. How can I prevent this?
