Are there any types of sharks that can be kept with neon or cardinal tetras?

I am new to the world of large aquariums having never had anything other than a betta or goldfish. However, I recently purchased a 55 gallon tank and it’s all set up awaiting fish. I really like the look of a school of cardinal tetras, and also would like to have a shark because I like a fish that’s constantly moving. I know bala/silver sharks and tri-color sharks get big enough to eat the tetras when they’re matured, are there any sharks that won’t eat these little guys?

Adding salt to the tank?

I have a relatively new 10 gallon aquarium. We went through, made sure the pH was good an everything, than went back to the pet store, to get the fish when it came time. This time, we went to a different location, because it was closer and I wanted to minimize the time the poor fish had to be in the bag. Well, this location did not have the fish we originally had intended to get and had researched so instead of 3 Neon Swordtails, we wound up with 3 black mollies to start the tank off on it’s first cycle.
Since then I have begun to research different things about them. Mine appear to be happy, they swim about, they come to the front of the tank when we come near…very enthusiastic and cute fish.
My question, I have read to add salt to the water, in our home, we use basically a salt grinder with sea salt. Is this okay to add in, or should I pick up something else? If so, what?
If the sea salt is okay, should I grind it or just add it as the coarse chunks they come in? Thanks.

Why do small snails climb to the aquarium surface, usually along the back wall?

By the way, I’m trying to get rid of the snails, and they’ve been under seige for quite a while via chemical warfare, hand-to-hand combat, attack of the gravel cleaner. Perhaps they are just trying to leave…

Can i use gravel purchased from home depot in an freshwater aquarium?

I bought 2 35lb bags of decorative gravel from home depot. No where on the bag does it mention silica.

My tank set up, with guppy’s, tetras, platys, and a loach. This is my second set-up, to which I chose a loose Renaissance theme!

The Aquatic Adventure

I filmed my fish swimming and put some peaceful music to it. I know the music cuts off near the very end but it still works! Hope you enjoy it! Don’t forget to comment :) The fish that you will see are Guppies that I’ve bred and raised from babies, a black Oriental Moor Goldfish, and plecostumous also know as an Algie Eater.
