what aquarium light do I need? (Saltwater Tank)?

I have a 35 gallon hexagon Acrylic tank. It is about 2 feet deep and currently doesn’t have lighting that I need in order to have corals. I need proper lighting but am unsure what to get. The top of the tank can support up to 20 inch top but I need it not to get too hot since the tank is Acrylic. Please tell me or better yet provide links to what I might be able to use. Thank you.
are metal hilide, compacts, LED’s, or flourescents, uv okay for Acrylic? Are any better than others for this type of setup? I just want to grow some corals
my tank looks like this but it has a saltwater filtration system, heat, and bio filters built into back. Also, it is a 35 gallon and not from petco (just photo to show shape)…. mine is 2 feet deep by 20″ wide

I’ve tried giving a lot of different types of stuff trying to entice it into eating.. but still, it refuse to eat. n moreover, my aquarium though quite large, is barren except for a few large chunks of live rocks. it’s a new tank, so not much algae nor weed growth.. any suggestion how to speed up the algae growth? as a natural source of fish food which the fishes seems to like very much? help me out with my angel.. i m sad to see it not eating… thx.

silver-tipped sharkes are saltwater fish?!?!?

I have a silver-tipped shark in my 125 gal tank w/a number of other freshwater fish including: a rope fish, 4 angelfish, 6 giant danios, medium albino butterfly pleco, albino channel cat (for now), and a catfish that has only a Latin name syndondis…. multiplicatius.. I think (spelling wrong)? the silver-tipped shark is the smallest fish right now except the Latin catfish and the ropefish, but they usually hide out of reach and are not bothered by the silver-tipped. He is about 3 inches long. I use aquarium salt and the ph is 8.4 or more. Is he going to survive in freshwater, and if he won’t be able to live happily in a freshwater aquarium, at what size should I get take him to a pet shop; will they even take a large shark? I‘ve never seen large ones before in any pet shops. I really like him and don’t want to get rid of him if I don’t have to, but I can’t get a saltwater tank.
Here’s why I was prompted to ask this question.

Probably not – these prefer strong water current, so if the water isn’t moving as fast as they’d like, they move instead. They should also be kept in brackish water (at least as juveniles), them gradually moved up to saltwater as adults. And as the previous answer already said, they’re schooling when young. I’d be very cautious about what you’re keeping them with as well – they’re predatory and they’ll eat fish they can fit in their mouth. http://www.fishlore.com/profile-columbia…

Seymour Butts, it’s not a real shark, it’s in the catfish family i believe. they just look like sharks so that’s what they are called.

Where can I buy a plain glass tank?

I want to buy a 55 – 60 gallon glass aquarium tank, but without any kind of hood and no stand. Do they sell them like this at places like Petco or do you have to buy the complete setup? This is for a baby bearded dragon that outgrew it’s tank and it sits on the floor, so I don’t need anything fancy.

Why do my fish like a small aquarium?

I bought four small goldfish, a blind one, a deformed one and two sick ones. I put them in a 30 gallon aquarium but they hated it. They would not swim a lot, nor play with the bubbles or care much for anything. Thinking something was wrong with the water I got it tested at a pet store but nothing was wrong with it. I bought a one gallon aquarium to put them in till I found the reason why they didn’t like it but they seemed to love the one gallon aquarium. They swam around in it, swam through the bubbles and even started playing with the plants that are in it. The two sick ones even got healthier within one week. So I put them back in the 30 gallon tank again and once again they hated it. Both aquariums are located in the same area, both have the same water (which was checked at a pet store) both aquariums temp are the same so why do my goldfish like the small aquarium compared to the big one? They seem to have a lot of room in the one gallon aquarium but online it says its too small for 4 goldfish even though they are small fish. What do I do?
