I need to know if I should do any thing else to help them. I have cleaned the rocks, cleaned the tank, added aquarium salt, and began a “quick cure” treatment.
My current water temp is about 76 degrees. I had my water tested about a month ago and the Nitrate level was around 200. It is currently at 40PPM My Nitrite level is at 0, my hardness is at 120, my alkalinity is at 80, and my ph is around 6.6. I have a 75 gallon tank with two Bio-filters that are recommended for a 60 gallon tank each. I have no live plants, 1 lionhead goldfish, 3 fancy goldfish, and 2 different type pleckos. I was told by the petshop that the “Quick cure” will not hurt the pleckos. I see some improvement (the fish are swimming to the top to eat now instead of waiting for the food to sink and two of the four are swimming around the tank.) but not as much as I would like to see. I am considering removing some of my rock once they are healthy. I have a 1/2″ layer and find the less rock the longer the tank stay clean. I also had a Red Claw crab suggested to me to keep the rock clean. What do you think? I obviously can’t get the crab with the fish on the bottom.
