I am looking into various filter types for my aquarium. I have an undergravel/carbon floss filter on my 3 gallon aquarium (For my Betta) and its LOUD!

So I was just looking into other options and trying to get myself educated some. Just wondering what the carbon was for. Shoot, for that matter, what does an undergravel filter do? That part doesn’t make much sense either.

Anyhow – if you know about any of these things, and would be willing to share it – that would be great. If you happen to know of a website that you would suggest to explain these things, that would be even better. The weird part about trying to do research about these sorts of things, is that you look at three different sources, and sometimes get 4 different explainations, ha ha.
