I have a 10 gallon aquarium, a heater, lights, etc – random bits and pieces from my old tropical freshwater aquarium.
I was wondering what other types of animals can be happily housed in a ten gallon aquarium…I like fish, but is there anything original and cool?
So far I was thinking:
Fiddler Crabs
African Dwarf Frogs
Mice/Dwarf Hamster
etc
Any other cool ideas?

“I have been reading a lot online about DIY backgrounds and I think I can take it on. The only problem is I do not know where to get the styrofoam other than when buying things from the store that come in a box with styrofoam in it. Can anyone please refer me to a site or a store where I can get a rectangular piece of styrofoam? My tank is a 30 gallon tank(30″ x 18″). I am only looking for something that is 2-3 inches thick. Any information is helpful.
Also, a lot of people talked about many different types of paint to make the background look real but no one ever mentioned krylon fusion. Does anyone think it would work ok?”
Not on of the answers had anything to with the questions I asked.
Not trying to be mean or rude but I just want to know where to get a piece of styrofoam and whether or not krylon fusion would be ok with it b/c I already have that kind of paint.
I live in the UK and have been snowed in for over a week! I have a 33 gallon saltwater aquarium and I have run out of Salt! I can’t go and get any due to the snow! I have not done a water change for just over a week! and the is brown algae starting grow on the substrate! and my damsel fish is attacking everything in the tank! what do I do? I’m really stuck! The Weather chanel says we might have it for another 2 weeks! are my fish going to die? I have an Oversized external filter and a protein skimmer, the tank has only been setup a month & 8 days! really don’t no what to do?
EDIT: I have just tested my water and my Nitrites and Nitrates are both 0 ppm

6 Cory Cats (Already Have all 6)

4 Bleeding Heart Tetras (Already have these but will not be replacing when they die)
1 Rubber Pleco (Already Have it)

I have a 20 gallon freshwater tropical aquarium with one pleco (not sure what kind),2 balloon mollies,3 white clouds,4 black neon tetras, and 4 tiger barbs. I’m aware that I’m over-stocked and my schooling fish need more members,but i can’t do that right now because of the overstocking.I have several questions.
How long should I be keeping the light on for each day, and when should it ideally turn on? (tank is out of direct sunlight)
My pleco is so timid that he hides at the slightest sound or movement around the inside or outside of the tank. I know he’s nocturnal and I see him out at night, but if I were to,say,open the lid to the tank,he would hide.Is he stressed and what should i/can i do?
I think I have 2 male mollies.I know that the ideal ratio is 1 male/2 females.I’m not entirely sure of the sex though.They don’t fight, one kinda follows the other around a lot,and they rub up against eachother a lot.Please tell me how I can for sure tell their sex and tips.sry for all the 2s!
I’ve had my pleco for about 2ish years now. He (or she…) was pretty tiny when I got him, but now he’s at least 5 inches long. I’m afraid the tank’s too small for him!
I was looking in my aquarium tonight and saw a pretty shell moving. After looking a lil closer and researching on the internet, found out it was a malaysian trumpet snail. My only problem is I need to know where did he/she come from. I recently got 2 cichlid about 4 mths ago from the pet shop, but this is the first I have saw of this snail. I have never had a snail in my tank before. Do i need to remove it? Will it over populate my tank? I only have a 5 gallon tank with no live plants. By the way I have 2 baby molly fish and 2 cichlid in there. Where did it come from….. HELP!
After taking a closer look, the two fish i bought were gourami fish not cichlids. These gourami fish are very colorful and have whiskers on the bottom of them
