I’ve done my research on the cycling process and everything. I want to set up a 10 gallon aquarium and im going to list a step by step starting from the beginning. Let me know if im doing this right.

1) Before putting the water into the tank, get rid of the chlorine by adding dechlorinator
2) Put water in tank and let the heater ad filter run for a day?
3) Put 2-3 zebra danios in the tank the next day to begin the nitrogen cycle(is it okay to put them in the next day?)
4) The next day, use the kits to test the level of nitrate and nitrite. Keep checking everyday (i have to check everyday right?)
5) When the levels finally go down, add another 2-3 danios
6) Again, check the levels everyday. When nitrate and nitrite reach 0 ppm, add 3 corys cats to the tank. (does ammonia have to be 0 too? if so, do they have kits that test the level of ammonia)
7) Your tank is set and ready.

So is this how an aquarium works when you first start one? Please let know if i mentioned anything wrong or forgot a step. Thanks! I really want a healthy fish tank. Also, please dont post sites about the nitrogen cycle, i already read them
