In the last few weeks I have begun to set up my first saltwater aquarium. I received some great advice from the answers of my last question (thank you!!) and just want to make sure I am doing everything correctly so far. Here is what I have done:

-Got the aquarium itself set up, along with equipment and let it run for a week with dechlorinated freshwater and the light off.
-After everything worked fine, I changed the water to saltwater.
-I tested a variety of things, including salinity, pH, nitrate, nitrite, chlorine, etc. Everything looked perfect.
-I added live sand as the substrate, and did the above tests again. Once again everything looked fine.

I am currently waiting for the substrate to settle a bit and for the aquarium to become less cloudy. I will then let the tank run for another week or two, before doing the necessary tests and starting with my first few fish. Any recommendations on fish? I have heard green chromis and damselfish are good and hardy to begin with. Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong, and thanks for reading/answering!
Yep, I forgot to mention that I was going to get live rock in the next couple of days.
Oh, the freshwater part was to make sure that the equipment was working properly before I wasted my time getting the saltwater just right. What fish are suggested to start out with? I have heard that the damselfish are great because they are hardy, but now people are starting to say otherwise. Whats the real story on them?
